CRIB: A Novel Method for Device-Based Physical Behavior Analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Physical behaviors (e.g., sleep, sedentary behavior, and physical activity) often occur in sustained bouts that are punctuated with brief interruptions. To detect classify these interrupted bouts, researchers commonly use wearable devices specialized algorithms. Most algorithms examine the data chronological order, initiating terminating whenever specific criteria met. Consequently, may encapsulate or overlap later periods also meet activation termination (i.e., alternative bout solutions). In some cases, it is desirable to compare solutions before making a final classification. Thus, comparison-focused needed, which can be used isolation concert their chronology-focused counterparts. this technical note, we present algorithm called CRIB (Clustered Recognition of Interrupted Bouts). It uses agglomerative hierarchical clustering facilitate comparison different solutions, classification being made favor smallest number comply user-specified limits on number, individual duration, cumulative duration interruptions). For demonstration, assess moderate vigorous activity accelerometer from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey, include against results two established Our discussion explores strengths limitations CRIB, as well potential considerations applications for using future studies. A Novel Fuzzy Based Method for Heart Rate Variability Prediction
Abstract In this paper, a novel technique based on fuzzy method is presented for chaotic nonlinear time series prediction. Fuzzy approach with the gradient learning algorithm and methods constitutes the main components of this method. This learning process in this method is similar to conventional gradient descent learning process, except that the input patterns and parameters are stored in mem...
متن کاملmrPUF: A Novel Memristive Device Based Physical Unclonable Function
Physical unclonable functions (PUFs) exploit the intrinsic complexity and irreproducibility of physical systems to generate secret information. They have been proposed to provide higher level security as a hardware security primitive. PUFs are an emerging and promising solution for establishing trust in an embedded system with low overhead with respect to energy and area. Most current PUF desig...
متن کاملCRIB: A Method for Integrity Constraint Checking on Knowledge Bases
The necessity of verification tools for Knowledge Based-Systems (KBSs), that help to guarantee a certain degree of quality and reliability of these systems will increase in the future when more critical systems are developed in areas such as industry, science, business, etc. One of the objectives of the KBSs verification is to assure the consistency and completeness of the Knowledge Base (KB). ...
متن کاملA Novel Method for Travel System Patterns
Due to population growth in urban areas, especially in the capital cities in developing countries, the use of private vehicles are increasing, leading to many problems such as congestion, pollution, noise, long travel time, high travel cost and more side effects. In such circumstances government policy would encourage people to use public transportation. In the meantime, employing the Intellige...
متن کاملA novel local search method for microaggregation
In this paper, we propose an effective microaggregation algorithm to produce a more useful protected data for publishing. Microaggregation is mapped to a clustering problem with known minimum and maximum group size constraints. In this scheme, the goal is to cluster n records into groups of at least k and at most 2k_1 records, such that the sum of the within-group squ...
